In reply to your letter of the 9th instant, I am

directed by the Secretary for Scotland to state for the information of Mr Secretary Chamberlain that the only

warder in the Scotch Prison Service who offered for service in HongKong was, upon medical examination pronounced unfit

for tropical service.

Copies of the applicant's letter and of the

relative medical report are enclosed herewith.
